Privacy Policy
Overview
MeshKit is a browser-based tool suite for MeshCore LoRa mesh radio operators. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
MeshKit is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the MeshCore project or its developers.
Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Google account information — your name and email address, obtained when you sign in with Google. This is used to identify your account and manage your subscription status.
- GPS and location data — when you use location-based features such as the ping tool or site planner, your browser may request your current location. This data is used locally in your browser session and may be stored to Firebase to save your field data. It is never sold or shared with advertisers.
How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your account via Google Sign-In
- To manage your subscription and feature access
- To store your saved data (repeaters, ping logs, analysis results) associated with your account
- To provide location-aware features within the app
Third-Party Services
MeshKit uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Google Firebase — authentication, real-time database storage, and hosting infrastructure
- Google Sign-In — account authentication
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions (Stripe handles all payment data; MeshKit never stores card details)
Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or any other third parties outside of the services listed above.
Data Retention
Your account data is retained as long as your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Upon deletion, your data will be removed from Firebase within 30 days.
Bluetooth (BLE) Data
Some features use Web Bluetooth to communicate directly with your MeshCore radio hardware. Bluetooth communication happens entirely within your browser and is never transmitted to our servers. No BLE device identifiers or radio data are stored by MeshKit.
Children's Privacy
MeshKit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of MeshKit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
